ED QUINN

The handsome and talented, Ed Quinn brings a charm to Hollywood that is comparable to the leading men of yester year and can currently be seen dazzling his fans on the hit TV show “Eureka” (new season airs July 29, 2008) on the Sci-Fi Channel. On the show, Quinn plays one of three lead characters, ‘Nathan Stark’ a charming, Nobel-prize winning mathematician and Eureka's head researcher. The series had the most successful first season ever in for the network and brought in over 5 million new viewers and made the channel the #5 most watched cable channel on TV and “Eureka” the #1 watched show for the network! “Eureka” is SCI-FI's first scripted original series launch since the premiere of the critically acclaimed “Battlestar Galactica” and is produced and distributed by NBC Universal Television Studio. The show is currently filming its third season in Vancouver. In addition to the show, Quinn will star in two indie features this year, the first being a lead role in the independent feature The Rainbow Tribe (August 21,2008) directed by Christopher R. Watson, it tells the story of six rat bag kids on summer camp in Northern Minnesota discover their beloved camp councilor 'Chief' has a life threatening secret. The film stars David James Elliot in the lead role and will be one of those heartfelt family comedy/dramas that will bring tears and cheers for the audiences. Also out later this year, Quinn can be seen starring opposite Matthew Modine in romantic comedy The Neighbor.

Quinn grew up in Berkeley, California, and earned a Bachelor's Degree in History from the University of California, Berkeley. After graduating he worked as an actor and model in Paris, Barcelona, and Milan, tearing up the runaways and landing parts in more than 35 international television commercials. Things were going so well with his commercials/modeling that the he was encouraged to return to the States and focus on his acting, as they could see that he had a natural gift for the craft. With that encouragement, he soon returned to the States in 1995 to pursue his acting career.

In addition to his acting, Quinn also had another natural ability for making music and besides acting he considers it his second biggest passion. He has studied with world-renowned guitar legend Joe Satriani and played in the Los Angeles-based bands Mad Theory and Scattergood, which led to a production deal. After focusing on his music for a few years, in 2000 while performing in the band, Ed met an agent from the Endeavor agency who sent him on his first audition for Fox’s long-running series “Dharma and Greg,” where he landed a guest starring role that opened him up to the world of television. Pilot season soon followed and he immediately landed the starring role of ‘Finn’ in the WB summer series “Young Americans,” where he starred opposite Kate Bosworth and Ian Somerhalder. The drama was a "semi-spinoff" of “Dawson's Creek.”

In addition, he has starred in feature films such as Lions Gate’s horror-thriller House of the Dead: Dead Aim, Touchstone’s Starship Troopers II and Beeper, opposite Harvey Keitel. His TV credits include recurring roles on CBS’ “CSI: NY,” NBC’s “Crossing Jordan” and The WB’s “Jack & Jill.” He has also guest-starred on a number of hit shows such as ABC’s “Jake in Progress,” CBS’ “CSI,” The WB’s “What I Like About You,” CBS’ “JAG,” and ABC’s “According to Jim,” “It's All Relative” and “Life with Bonnie.”

When Quinn isn’t focusing on his acting career, he enjoys surfing the waves. He has traveled to over 20 different countries including South Africa, Spain, Caribbean, and Canada to name a few. One of his all time favorites is G-Land Indonesia, located at Plengkung Bay on the southern most peninsula of Java and was discovered in the 70’s by a couple of intrepid surfers on a flight between Jakarta and Bali. In addition, he races Honda motorcycles, and has a CBR 1000 RR street bike that has been modified for the track. He is also currently working on putting together an Area Rock band in Los Angeles and Vancouver, so he can always keep up with his passion for music.

Quinn currently resides in Los Angeles with his miniature pinscher Newt. For more information, please contact Shannon Barr at SBPR at 310.546.5069.
